<p>I intend for this corner of my portfolio to be a place to record my progress with current projects. Occasionally, I’ll also use it as a place to put down some thoughts I think are worth sharing.</p>

<p>Unlike the <a href="https://matthewholandez.com">main page</a> of the site, the <a href="https://matthewholandez.com/writing"><code class="language-plaintext highlighter-rouge">/writing</code></a> route runs on <a href="https://jekyllrb.com/">Jekyll</a> with the Minimal theme (the standard one). Jekyll feels quite academic and old-fashioned, but it clearly works and does what it needs to do. I also like that I can write in Markdown and have my musings converted to nice-looking HTML without having to handle that conversion on my own. I tried this a few days ago with Gemini and OpenCode, but there are many edge cases, and it didn’t look as clean as I wanted. Yet another lesson not to reinvent the wheel.</p>
